The Four Day Week .

What do you think? Is this realistic and relevant for some industry sectors for the 21st century? Could this become more acceptable within the next year or two within the UK and other countries?

Since the Covid-19 Pandemic Flexible working has become normal for many people. Companies quickly recognised that Hybrid working could ensure improve employee happiness and productivity. Of course, hybrid working cannot be applied in every industry sector and not all employees wish to work remotely. Many may question how well a CEO or Director can lead whilst operating remotely. Not impossible although communicating via video call is never the same as engaging with people in person.
Of course, in the news have been major companies demanding employees return to working at the office 5 days per week.
Younger generations especially are seeking a greater work / life balance, which has become as or more important than the financial rewards. The traditional 5-day week is being challenged with the belief that the 4-day week, with 5-day pay is the way forward. Something that is supported by a small number of employers as well as employees. But… can you achieve the same productivity in 4 days? Or only if you work longer hours each day?
