It’s all about the Colour Orange
Appearing on multiple runways this season would seem to be all about the colour orange! This bright hue can be the perfect compliment and can help catapult your spring wardrobe into summer.
Bright orange was seen featured in the designs of Carolina Herrera, Christian Dior, Hermes and Narciso Rodriguez, and is, no doubt, only a matter of time before we see it flooding all the shops.
When accompanied with a simplistic white skirt, orange can really brighten up not only your wardrobe but your mood as well! Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow, making it the perfect colour of summer. It is also associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics which sounds like the perfect summer holiday to me!
Orange is said to represent enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. We mentally associate it with warmth and pleasant feelings, yet is not as fierce as red and is a lot more applicable to various different skin tones. In heraldry, orange is symbolic of strength and endurance, and who doesn’t need a bit of that in their lives at times?
Orange has very high visibility, so you can use it to catch attention and highlight the most important features of your body, drawing attention away from any areas we do not feel quite so confident about. A bright orange necklace or scarf can attract the eye to your face whilst complimenting a floaty pastel coloured summer dress. Alternatively, you can mix orange with summery neutrals, combing textures to perhaps tone down the bright colour, making it suitable for wearing in the office.
